Hawaii International Film Festival - Spring Showcase
The HIFF Spring Showcase started on Friday, 3/31/06 and runs until Thursday, 4/6/06. The Spring Festival is a smaller showcase than the one in the Fall and only has 26 films.

The lineup this Spring isn't too impressive and I think I'm only going to watch the French action film District 13. It's produced by Luc Besson, who directed The Professional. Looks pretty cool. So far, the most popular films have been Tsotsi (Academy Award winner for Best Foreign Film), Lady Vengeance (by the director of Old Boy), and Shopaholics (HK comedy).
I've also been volunteering at HIFF and met some pretty interesting people and had some interesting conversations covering all sorts of topics including K-dramas, the culture of Guyana, library microfiche, amongst other things.
