Heisman Schmeisman!
Wow, what a stinker of a game played by Ohio State QB Troy Smith yesterday in the BCS Championship Bowl game. This guy won the Heisman Trophy by a landslide as well as just about every other award there is out there. But a lotta good all of that supposed skill did him as he finished a pathetic 4/14 for 35 yards and 1 INT with no TDs as his team lost to Florida 41-14.
That was one of the saddest performances I've seen from someone who's supposed to be the nation's top player. I'm not saying that Hawaii QB Colt Brennan should've won the Heisman Trophy but he sure would've put up better numbers than this loser. Auwe!

Heisman Jinx in full effect.
I agree that this might have been one of the worst performances by a Heisman winner as Smith got *absolutely* shut down. But I do remember when Ty Detmer won the Heisman way back when, they gave it to him the night of the game vs. UH. I thought it was a bit of an insult that they gave him the award before the final game, like UH was an afterthought. Well BYU went on to lose to the Rainbow Warriors 59-28 and then got blown out again by Texas A&M 65-14 in their bowl game.
Another bad performance by a Heisman winner in a national championship game is Vinny Testaverde. All that trash talking by him and his teammates and he ends up with 5 INTS and an upset loss to Penn State.
