Korea - Day 2

Got up early this morning to take a drive out to visit my grandfather's grave. We left my hotel at around 9:30am.

My grandfather is buried next to my great grandmother.
Grandfather's headstone
My father, uncle, and I then went to Myeongdong to have lunch. My favorite! Mandoo!

Cheap prices! About $5-$6 for an order of about 13 mandoo.
This is the 물만두 (boiled mandoo)
The gyoza mandoo
After lunch, my dad and uncle went home and I decided to take a tour around Myeongdong. It's one of my favorite places here in Seoul. Lots of shops, restaurants, and people!

The Myungdong sign

Food goods are sold on the street all over in Korea.
Waffle ice cream ($1)

Hallyu still going strong, especially to Japanese tourists.
Celebrities endorse everything around here.
After cruzing Myeongdong, went back to the hotel for a rest. Then headed to Cheongdam-dong to meet some people for dinner and drinks.

Stopped for a cup of tea at Tom and Tom's Coffee. Cafes are all over the place. Starbucks, Coffee Bean, Tom and Tom's, and Pascucci. And they're all packed!
Had dinner and then more wine....

Cool pics. How's the prices of the coffee drinks? Did you happen to notice any "cultural" drinks offered at the mainstream stores unavailable in HI or the US?

i haven't had coffee since i'm not a coffee drinker but i have had tea. a tea will cost you around $4.

i'll keep an eye out for "cultural" drinks but you won't really find those at the cafes. the cafes pretty much offer the usual, espresso, cappuccino, mocha, etc.
