Congratulations Dean!
Local boy Dean Wilson got his first PGA victory today as he held off veteran and Ryder Cup captain Tom Lehman in a sudden death playoff at The International. The International is a unique tournament where a (+) score is good as birdies are awarded (+2) and bogeys are (-1). Both Wilson and Lehman finished with scores of (+34). After both parred the 1st playoff hole, Wilson stuck his approach shot on the 2nd playoff hole about 8 feet away. After Lehman missed his lengthy birdie, Wilson sank his putt to win the tournament and earn $990,000!Dean has been playing great all year and it's awesome to see this local boy come through against a very strong field that included Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson, Retief Goosen, and Sergio Garcia. A very impressive victory. Way to go Dean!
