Greg Oden Out For the Year!
Ouch! Portland can't be happy about this. Center Greg Oden, the #1 overall pick in the NBA draft will miss his entire rookie season after having knee surgery on Thursday.
What a blow to the Trailblazers. And as fans, now we gotta deal with a bunch of crappy games featuring Portland on ESPN, TNT, ABC, etc. that they agreed to show based on Oden playing.
Let's just hope he doesn't become another Sam Bowie for them!

I grew up a Blazers fan living in Portland. Once I moved up to Seattle to attend UW and eventually settled here, I gradually became a Sonics fan. With Oden signing, and Brandon Roy from UW playing well last year for the Blazers, I was really looking forward to rekindling my initial love of the Blazers...especially since Sonics seemed to be on their way out to Oklahoma in the next few years.
Forget the TV, though...what about all those Blazers fans who bought season tickets purely based on Oden's signing? Yikes...
Sam Bowie/Michael Jordan....Greg Oden/Kevin Durant?...ugh....
