Hike and Drive

Was feeling cooped up and bored on a lazy Sunday afternoon and my fantasy football team was letting me down in a big way so I decided to go out for a hike and a drive. Went to check out Diamond Head. It's been a few years since I've been up to the top of Diamond Head and it was a lot easier than I remembered. The ascent was real quick and painless, including those 99 steps. Here's a few pics of the view from the top:

The weather was great and skies were clear and it was a really nice day so after the hike, was feeling like getting even more air so I drove all the way to Haleiwa for some Matsumoto's shave ice! So refreshing!

Line wasn't too bad
I always get the large strawberry with ice cream here. Just $2.50! What a bargain!
If only Matsumoto's had mochi balls in the shave ice, it would be perfect!

After Matsumoto's decided to do the rest of the island. Figured might as well, since I was out and about anyways...didn't stop to take any pics along the way, but the drive was really refreshing. Loved the smell of the salt water and the view of the waves. Can't wait for the winter season to check out some Pipeline swells! Just to look, of course! The highest waves I've ever ridden were 4-6 feet and that was scary enough!

Afterwards, all that driving really made me pooped! But saw some cool countryside stuff like chickens having sex on the roadside and a couple of wild pigs in the brushes. I do regret not stopping in Kahuku for some sweet corn though. Next time!
