NBC Rocks!

I normally don't watch too much episodic TV. My attention span or lack thereof prevents me from committing to any TV show for any long duration. But I've been finding that the TV shows that have gotten my attention as of late are mostly on NBC.

Of course there's Heroes, which just kicked off its 2nd season last week and still kicks ass. Too bad Hiro is stuck in ancient Japan though. I miss his antics with Ando. But the Peter in Ireland and the "godsend" logo storylines look pretty cool and we're all curious as to who the new hooded bad guy is. Still a great show.

Has anyone seen Chuck? I think this show is pretty fun. The premise is that all of the CIA's and NSA's secrets have been downloaded into the brain of Chuck, a nerdy techie support guy who works for Buy More, a retail electronics store. Now everyone is after what's in his brain and the CIA and NSA both have agents looking out for him. After 2 episodes, I find it pretty entertaining and I love the "geek" factor of it. For example, in last night's ep, there was a poster of the Korean film "Oldboy" hanging in his room and in another scene where they show some of the secrets in his head, they reveal that "Oceanic Flight 815 was shot down by....", referring to Lost. Gee Why would also the love the Mac joke thrown in. When Chuck asks why one of the other support guys can't take a support call for a Linux problem the Mac guy says, "We are Mac support! We are IT artists!" Funny stuff. I'll be watching this show for a while.

Not to mention the Thursday night comedies. I think 30 Rock is just genius. I only caught the last 2 or 3 eps of last season but I was hooked! Tina Fey is brilliant! And the rest of the cast is great as well. I just received my Season 1 DVD so I'll definitely be checking out the older eps. 30 Rock's season premiere is this Thursday with a guest appearance from Jerry Seinfeld!

I also like The Office, just for its weirdness. It does the best of making awkward and politically incorrect situations funny.

So pretty much all of the shows I DVR are on NBC for now.
