Korean Music Groups Have Weird Names
When I read about the debut of the new Korean girl group Swan, it got me thinking that there sure are a lot of weird names for Korean musicians out there!
Swan stands for Strong Woman Achiever, No spouse. Hah? Uh...okay...
Others from the past that I can think of include
Fin.K.L. = Fine Killing Liberty
H.O.T. = High five Of Teenagers
BabyVOX = Baby Voice of Xpression
G.O.D. = Groove Over Dose
SG Wannabe = (Simon & Garfunkel) Wannabe
V.O.S. = Voice of Soul
M.I.L.K. = Made In Lovely Kin
Not to mention other weird names like Yangpa (means "onion" in Korean), Maybee, Sugar, Jewelry, SeeYa, The Nuts, Stony Skunk, Banana Boat, Wax, Beige, Daylight, Block, Cats, Wonder Girls, etc. Lots of fun stuff!
But just because they have a weird name doesn't mean they can't sing. I'm especially a fan of FinKL, BabyVOX (both original version and Rev), SeeYa, Jewelry, and Wax out of the above mentioned. Hmm...those are all females! Isn't that odd? ^__^
